The Inauguration in Pictures

Wanted to post some pictures from the past few days in DC.

The view from the incredible seats for the inauguration.  P1190083

The day before, walking around to get a feel for the mall. ( That's what they call the area, where everyone was today. First time I heard this, I tried to find where this "mall" was.. Couldn't find it for some reason, haha.)

IMG_0103Sunday, the day that I got to DC. Already very busy.

The endless sea of people. Just an amazing sight. And even more amazing to be part of it!

These are pictures from my camera and phone. I should have few more from friends later this week.

Best,

Janis

  2. How exciting!! It was emotional just watching on tv, even for the 2nd and 3rd times tonight so I can only imagine how fantastic it was to actually be there feeling the energy.

  3. Soooo envious. Alas, I was way up here in Alberta.
I know– “mall” is a strange term for that area. I wonder where it comes from?

  5. In London, England we have a very famous road that leads up to the palace called ‘The Mall’. I suspect that your roads historic name could well be linked to ours. Just a thought. I don’t know for sure!

  8. That’s some view you had Janis.
Obama’s speech was sombre but moving, just the right balance. I wasn’t so sure about the poetry reading afterwards!
