Cisco which bought Pure Digital, the makers of Flip in 2009 for $590 million, have announced that they are shutting down the HD camera maker.

I’m surprised this hasn’t happened sooner. The writing was on the wall once the iPhone and other Android devices had video capabilities. Flips niche disappeared and they became irrelevant.
Flip was sold at the perfect time and I’m happy for the investors of Pure Digital that saw the end coming selling to the highest bidder.  Cisco had no business in buying the company at the time that they did. But they did.
What do you think?
